Colin Farrell might have won the honor for best entertainer in a melodic or satire at the 2023 Brilliant Globes, yet he began his discourse with a rave about moderator Ana de Armas.

“I simply thought you were exceptional,” Farrell told Armas — who was named for best entertainer in a film show for her depiction of Marilyn Monroe in Blonde — prior to tolerating his honor.

“I sobbed well into the night the night I saw your film, Blonde. I sobbed well into the night.

One thing had to do with the music that played right now where the shot opens and simply seeing her lower legs at the edge of the bed. It wrecked me so terrible,” he said, to giggles around the room, before teasingly telling the audience: “Not a joke, but rather you’re free to chuckle. It’s not up to me to get out whatever’s fitting giggling in this world.”

The entertainer, 46, won Tuesday night for his depiction ofPádraic Súilleabháin in The Banshees of Inisherin, prevailing over Diego Calva (Babylon), Daniel Craig (Glass Onion: A Blades Out Secret), Adam Driver (Repetitive sound) Ralph Fiennes (The Menu). “To chip away at this film, I never anticipate that movies should work or to track down an audience and when they do, it’s stunning to me,” Farrell said in his discourse. “I’m sickened by what’s occurred around Banshees over the most recent few months, in an exhilarating sort of way.”

Farrell reunites with his In Bruges costar Brendan Gleeson in The Banshees of Inisherin, which follows “two long lasting companions (who) wind up at a stalemate when one unexpectedly cuts off their friendship, with disturbing ramifications for the two of them,” as per an IMDb summary.
